KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Rays placed outfielder Steven Souza Jr. on the disabled list with a lacerated finger and reinstated utility man John Jaso before Tuesday's doubleheader in Kansas City.

Souza, who is hitting .210 with 15 homers and 33 RBIs, is the 18th player from Tampa Bay to land on the DL this season. In all, the Rays have made 20 moves to the disabled list, second only to the Texas Rangers.

Jaso has been out with a bruised left wrist. He played three innings in left field for Triple-A Durham on Monday night, going 0 for 2.

To accommodate his return to the 40-man roster, the Rays designated right-hander Preston Guilmet for assignment. Tampa Bay has made 10 roster moves in the past 14 days.
