ST. LOUIS (AP) — Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly and catcher A.J. Ellis have been ejected arguing balls and strikes in separate incidents in the seventh inning.

The Dodgers had runners on first and second in a game they trailed 2-0 to the Cardinals on Friday night before Andre Ethier was called out by home plate umpire Mike Winters.

It's the third ejection this season for Mattingly.

Ellis was booted for arguing ball four against Matt Carpenter with one out in the bottom of the seventh.
