RENO, Nev. (AP) — Washoe County Sheriff's deputies say they have arrested a suspect in a string of home and vehicle burglaries in Reno's Caughlin Ranch area.
Authorities say deputies responded around 1 a.m. Saturday to reports of a car being burglarized near Longknife Road and Caughlin Parkway.
The deputies say they found two cars had been broken into and the suspect used the garage door openers to enter homes and burglarize them.
A deputy searching the area spotted 45-year-old Kyle Douglas Fitch, who attempted to flee.
A perimeter was set up in the area and Fitch was stopped.
Deputies say stolen property tied to the burglaries was found in his possession.
Fitch, of Fernley, has been booked into Washoe County Detention Facility on several counts including burglary and resisting a public officer.
