MAYVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — A 14-year-old girl has been arrested in the death of a 1-year-old western New York boy who was strangled.

Authorities said Wednesday the teen is charged with manslaughter in the death of 21-month-old Joshua Jock Jr. in the Chautauqua County town of Harmony. Officials say the toddler died Monday between 11 p.m. and midnight at a day care where the owner also lives.

Officials say someone called 911 and reported that the toddler was unresponsive.

Deputies say the only people home at the time were the teen, the boy and a 1-year-old girl. They're all related.

The teen is being held on $1 million bail in a Buffalo juvenile facility. It's unclear if she'll be charged as an adult.
