NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — The New Jersey Devils have signed forward Sergey Kalinin to an entry-level contract.
General Manager Ray Shero announced the deal without disclosing details on Friday.
The 24-year-old spent the previous five seasons playing in Russia. He had set career highs this past season with 12 goals and 13 assists in 58 games, while serving as the club's captain. The 6-foot-3 forward scored 31 goals and 38 assists in 213 career KHL games. He added three goals and two assists in 39 playoff contests.
Kalinin has represented Russia at the 2011 World Junior Championships in Buffalo, New York, and at the 2014 World Championships in Belarus, winning gold medals.
