NBA PLAYOFFS

Hawks, Nets, Warriors open NBA playoffs with victories.

UNDATED (AP) — The road team has won the first three games of the NBA playoffs.

The Atlanta Hawks had dropped eight straight road playoff games until Jeff Teague (teeg) scored a playoff career-high 28 points and Paul Millsap added 25 to lead the Hawks past the top-seeded Pacers 101-93 in Indiana. Teague scored nine points in a 14-0 run that put the Hawks ahead 74-58 with 4:08 left in the third quarter. Paul George finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Pacers, who were tied at 50 before the Hawks scored the first eight points of the second half.

Game 2 is Tuesday at Indianapolis.

Deron Williams and Joe Johnson each scored 24 points in the Brooklyn Nets' 94-87 triumph over the Raptors. Paul Pierce provided nine of his 15 points in the fourth quarter to help the sixth-seeded Nets win despite missing 20 of their 24 3-point attempts.

Kyle Lowry scored 22 points and Jonas Valanciunas (YOH'-nuhs val-ehn-SHOO'-nuhs) had 17 points and 18 rebounds for the Raptors, who host Game 2 on Tuesday.

The Golden State Warriors were 109-105 winners over the Clippers in Los Angeles as Klay Thompson scored 22 points and David Lee added 20.

Stephen Curry added 14 points for the Warriors, who trailed by 11 points early before rallying in the third quarter with Blake Griffin and Chris Paul on the bench in foul trouble.

Paul led the Clippers with 28 points, but Griffin added just 16 before fouling out with 48 seconds left and the game tied at 105.

Game 2 is Monday in Los Angeles.

The final NBA game of the day has Oklahoma City hosting Memphis.

NHL PLAYOFFS-SCHEDULE

Blues win again

UNDATED (AP) — The St. Louis Blues head to Chicago after winning a pair of overtime games on home ice in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Barrett Jackman scored 5:50 into OT to complete the Blues' comeback in a 4-3 triumph over the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks grabbed a 3-2 lead on goals by Brent Seabrook and Michel Rozsival (ROH'-sih-vahl) 1:45 apart in the third period. But Seabrook became the goat by drawing a five-minute major for charging and a game misconduct, allowing Vladimir Tarasenko to score a power-play goal with 6.4 seconds left.

Kevin Shattenkirk had a goal and two assists for the Blues, who next play Monday at United Center.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are hosting the Columbus Blue Jackets right now. The Pens took the series opener Thursday by scoring the last three goals in a 4-3 win over the Jackets. Game 2 has gone into double-overtime with the game knotted at 3.

Later on, the Colorado Avalanche will try to grab a 2-0 series lead when they host Minnesota. Avs coach Patrick Roy (wah) says he doesn't expect leading scorer Matt Duchene (DOO'-shayn) to play in the first-round playoff series because of a left knee injury suffered on March 29.

NHL-BRUINS

Fine handed out

NEW YORK (AP) — Boston forward Milan Lucic (LOO'-cheech) has been fined $5,000 for spearing Detroit defenseman Danny DeKeyser during their opening playoff game. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

NHL-FLYERS

Mason to miss another game

NEW YORK (AP) — Goalie Steve Mason of the Flyers still isn't feeling well enough to play, so Ray Emery will be back in the net for Philadelphia in Game 2 against the New York Rangers. Mason has been sidelined for a week because of an undisclosed upper-body injury after he was knocked over and hit his head on the ice against Pittsburgh. He and the Flyers have declined to say whether the goalie sustained a concussion.

MLB-SCHEDULE

Buehrle and Lynn go to 4-0

UNDATED (AP) — St. Louis right-hander and Toronto southpaw Mark Buehrle (BUR'-lee) are the first four-game winners of the major league season. Each improved to 4-0 by winning this afternoon.

Lynn allowed a run and five hits over 5 1/3 innings as the Cardinals beat the Nationals 4-3 in Washington. Lynn also hit an RBI double, Tony Cruz drove in two and the Cards scored three unearned runs on Anthony Rendon's (rehn-DOHNZ') error at second.

Buehrle limited the Indians to four hits in seven shutout innings as the Blue Jays blanked Cleveland 5-0. Dioner (dee-AH'-nur) Navarro had three RBIs, and Jose Reyes went 1-for-5 with an RBI in his first game since straining his left hamstring during the season opener.

Also in the majors:

— The Athletics are an American League-best 12-5 after scoring three times in the bottom of the ninth to hand Houston its sixth straight loss, 4-3. Jed Lowrie led off the rally with a homer before Alberto Callaspo (ky-AS'-poh) and Josh Reddick added RBI singles to send the A's to the 10th victory in their last 12 games.

— Max Scherzer struck out nine in seven innings as the Tigers beat the Angels, ending Detroit's 10-game losing streak to Los Angeles. Nick Castellanos (kas-tee-AH'-nohs) hit a two-run homer and Victor Martinez added a solo shot to help the Tigers withstand Albert Pujols' 498th home run.

— David Ortiz hit a solo homer and the Boston Red Sox won for the third time in four games by scoring twice in the seventh to beat Baltimore 4-2. Brock Holt tripled home the tiebreaking run in the seventh before scoring on Jonathan Herrera's suicide squeeze.

— The Royals won their fifth straight by putting together a five-run fourth in a 5-4 triumph over Minnesota. Alex Gordon had three hits and the Kansas City bullpen tossed four hitless innings to secure the win.

— Henderson Alvarez carried a perfect game into the sixth inning before settling for a two-hitter in Miami's 7-0 rout of Seattle. Marcell Ozuna had a three-run homer and an RBI single to hike his average to .343.

— The Chicago Cubs were 8-4 winners over Cincinnati as Darwin Barney and Welington Castillo hit two-run homers. Mike Olt added a solo shot for the Cubs, who had scored just once in their previous three games before erupting against the Reds.

— Ryan Braun's second homer of the day was a two-run blast with two outs in the ninth inning to lift Milwaukee to its second straight win, 8-7 at Pittsburgh. Jonathan Lucroy hit three doubles and drove in two runs for the Brewers, who blew a 4-1 lead before winning for the 12th time in their last 15 games.

— Justin Upton was 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and two runs scored in Atlanta's 7-5 win over the New York Mets. Ervin Santana held the Mets to a run and sixth hits while striking out seven in seven innings.

PGA-RBC HERITAGE

Third round continues

HILTON HEAD, S.C. (AP) — Luke Donald is the leader through three rounds of the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head.

Donald fired a 5-under 66 on Saturday for an 8-under total, two strokes ahead of John Huh (huh). Donald had an eagle and six birdies a he tries to finally win the event after four top-three finishes since 2009.

Charl Schwartzel, Nicholas Thompson, Jim Furyk (FYOOR'-ihk) and Ben Martin are three shots back.

LPGA-LOTTE CHAMPIONSHIP

Wie rallies for third title

KAPOLEI, Hawaii (AP) — Michelle Wie (wee) has earned her third LPGA title and first since 2010 by capturing the LOTTE Championship in her native Hawaii. Wie began the final round four shots off the pace before firing a 5-under 67 for a two-stroke win over Angela Stanford. Inbee Park closed with a 67 to end up three strokes back.

CHAMPIONS TOUR

Chasing Jimenez

DULUTH, Ga. (AP) — Tour rookie Miguel Angel Jimenez (AHN'-hehl hee-MEHN'-ehz) has the lead after two rounds of the three-round Champions Tour event in Duluth, Ga. He shot a 2-udner-70 and has a one shot lead at 9-under. Standing alone in second place is Bernhard Langer who shot a 4-under-68.

FORMULA 1

Hamilton takes pole at Chinese Grand Prix

SHANGHAI (AP) — Lewis Hamilton will start Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix from the pole. That gives his Mercedes team the pole in every race this season. Teammate Nico Rosberg failed to finish among the top-three in qualifying as Red Bull teammates Daniel Ricciardo (rih-KAHR'-doh) and four-time defending world champion Sebastian Vettel finished second and third.

TENNIS-CZECH-ITALY

Czech Republic leads Italy 2-0 in Fed Cup semis

OSTRAVA, Czech Republic (AP) — The Czech Republic took a commanding 2-0 lead over defending champion Italy in its Fed Cup semifinal after Lucie Safarova and Petra Kvitova (kuh-VIHT'-oh-vuh) won the opening singles matches in straight sets. The reverse singles and doubles are planned for Sunday with the host Czech's one win away from advancing to the final.
