NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have started trimming their roster. They waived 10 players, including veteran center Fernando Velasco, before the NFL's first roster cut deadline.

Tennessee signed Velasco in June after injuries to centers Brian Schwenke and Andy Gallik forced the Titans to practice with left guard Andy Levitre at center.

Other players waived Sunday are: linebackers Nate Askew, Dezmond Johnson and Chaz Sutton; cornerback Will Brown; wide receivers Tebucky Jones and Deon Long; guard Justin McCray; defensive end Derrick Lott; and kicker Mike Meyer.

The Titans need to waive five more players by Tuesday afternoon to reach the 75-player limit.
