SESAME STREET — On this sunny Tuesday, let me help you chase any clouds away with a nice kick in the nostalgia made better with a modern trend.
Now, it’s no secret that Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster is obsessed with cookies. As a kid, if I saw him on screen, I knew the situation would devolve into a veritable hurricane of flying cookie crumbs. And I loved it every time.
But Cookie’s obvious obsession doesn’t mean he never thinks about other food. This is made hilariously clear with the new video, “Simply Delicious Shower Thoughts with Cookie Monster.”
The video plays on the current Internet trend where people post the hair-brained, random and sometimes deep thoughts they have while they linger in the shower. (Twitter users @rshowerthoughts, and @myshowerthoughts collect some of their favorites, which I can in no way vouch for.)
I won’t spoil all of Cookie’s deep insights about food he shares while looking at fine art, but just to whet your appetite, here’s my favorite: “Lobsters are mermaids to scorpions.”
