High pressure overhead the Four Corners and an approaching cold front will work together to increase southwesterly winds today leading to record highs for many. Expect highs in the upper 80s to around 90 for the Wasatch Front. This would be our latest 90 degree day recorded for Salt Lake and our first 90 for the month of October! Red flag warnings have been issued for the mountains and western Utah with gusts to 35 mph. The cold front brings a cool down for Saturday with highs back to the upper 70s near 80. This is a dry front, so don't expect any showers anytime soon. Highs will generally be around 82-84 degrees Sunday through much of next week and quiet weather will continue.
