ST. GEORGE — "Yellowstone" star Kevin Costner is back in Utah, and he's looking for paid extras of all ages and ethnicities to star in his new film series, "Horizon: An American Saga."

Filming will be in St. George this month and next, and extras can expect to earn $150 per 12-hour day.

Extras will receive additional, to-be-determined compensation for overtime hours or special roles, which could involve horseback riding, blacksmithing or working with livestock, casting associate Jessie Vanatta said.

"We look forward to coming back to Utah, casting lots of local talent, meeting new extras, and reconnecting with 'Horizon' regulars," Vanatta said.

The Utah Legislature this year passed a law that removed the sunset date on a state program offering tax incentives for film productions in rural Utah. Costner played a part in the bill, if indirectly, after producers moved "Yellowstone" to Montana because it had a higher film incentive cap. The first three seasons of the show, which stars Costner, were primarily shot in Utah.

Costner will screen the first installment of "Horizon: An American Saga" at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19 before it comes to U.S. theaters on June 28. Extras who participate this summer could see themselves in future installments.

People interested in becoming extras for the upcoming film can email HorizonFilmExtras@gmail.com with the subject line "St. George Extra." Submissions must include the following information and answer the following questions to be considered:

  • Name and age.
  • Contact information (phone number and email).
  • Two current "selfie" photographs in natural light, one from the shoulders up and one full-length. No sunglasses or hats, and no professional headshots.
  • Current numbered clothing sizes (not small, medium, large, etc.) Men should submit their height, jacket, belt, pants, waist and shoe sizes. Women should submit their height, dress, blouse, waist and shoe sizes. Minors should submit clothing and shoe sizes.
  • Are you available to work in St. George as a local hire, meaning you do not need a hotel?
  • Do you have any scheduling restrictions in May or June?
  • Are you currently a SAG-Aftra member?
  • Have you previously worked on "Horizons: An American Saga"? If so, which role?
  • Do you have any visible tattoos on your arms, hands, or neck?
