CLINTON — Police are telling Clinton residents to be on the lookout for a pit bull they say attacked two men on Sunday.
Police arrived at the area of 1700 N. 950 West just after 10:30 a.m. in response to reports of three pit bulls attacking people in the area.
Two adult men were attacked by the pit bulls, said Clinton Police Sgt. Jake Fowers.
Medical crews took one man to the hospital and a second man was treated at the scene and went to get further treatment elsewhere, Fowers said. The men "sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the attack," according to the Clinton police Facebook page.
Police said one of the pit bulls died when "one of the victims discharged his firearm toward two of the dogs."
A second pitbull was located, and the third pitbull ran off, Fowers said.
Fowers said residents should be aware of the dog. It is described as a white pitbull with black spots.
The dog poses a minor danger to the public, Fowers said.
Residents who may have seen the dog are asked to call the Davis County Dispatch nonemergency phone number at 801-451-4151. Residents should not approach the dog, police said.
Davis County Animal Control identified the owner of the involved dogs, Clinton police said.
Animal control is investigating Sunday's incident.
