SALT LAKE CITY — Wednesday marked the official launch of the new MLS Season Pass subscription service on Apple TV, where all of Real Salt Lake's matches will be streamed starting this season.
Fans of the club can sign up for the service online or the Apple TV app on the streaming device of their choice for either $14.99 a month or $99 for the entire 2023 season. Matches begin on Feb. 25, but there is already a collection of video content produced by RSL available for subscribers to watch on launch day.
Highlights of the current offerings include player profiles on both current stars like Jefferson Savarino and club legends like Nick Rimando in the "Iconic Players" section. There are other video series that go more in-depth on unique aspects of each club, such as a short explanation of the history behind RSL's "Plant the Flag" ritual after every home win.
Apple is promoting MLS Season Pass with the slogan "Every Match. Every Screen. No Blackouts," taking a direct shot at other sports streaming services like NBA League Pass that blackout local broadcasts of games.
Former RSL player and TV commentator Brian Dunseth was announced this week as an analyst on Apple TV's team for MLS broadcasts. Dunseth became a fan favorite calling games for RSL over the last several years alongside David James before local broadcasts were eliminated in favor of Apple's new service.
All RSL full-season ticket account owners will receive a free MLS Season Pass subscription, with redemption instructions arriving via email starting Wednesday. Members can share their MLS Season Pass subscription with up to five family members by setting up Family Sharing on their devices.
