MURRAY – An overturned semitruck blocked multiple southbound lanes of I-15 near 4000 South in Murray, with the accident causing minor injuries and major delays on Friday.

The accident happened at around 4 p.m. Initial information from the Utah Highway Patrol said a blown tire may be to blame for causing the semitruck to strike the wall and overturn. Troopers at the scene reported minor injuries, UHP said in a tweet.

The right five southbound lanes of I-15 were closed at 3900 South in Murray and officials told drivers to expect major delays and use an alternate route.

UDOT tweeted after 9:30 p.m. that the crash has been cleared and all lanes have been reopened.
