SALT LAKE CITY — Utah State is on the board.

The Aggies (1-2) got their first victory of the young season with an 82-71 win over Northern Iowa (0-3) in their final game of the Crossover Classic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Marco Anthony scored a career-high 22 points and Rollie Worster added 17 points for Utah State as the inexperienced guard line pushed the USU to victory. Neemias Queta added 15 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, and Justin Bean had 15 points and 10 rebounds in the win. It is just the second time the frontcourt pair has both recorded double-doubles in the same contest.

With the victory, USU head coach Craig Smith, who coached at the University of South Dakota for four years before arriving in Logan, had something to smile about on his return to South Dakota.

The Aggies outscored the Panthers 43-31 in the second to come back for the win — flipping the script from the first two games of the tournament when poor second halves did them in. Utah State shot 46.4% from the field and was 7-of-7 from the 3-point line in the win.

Utah State will host its first game of the season Saturday, Dec. 5 against BYU. The time for that game has yet to be announced.
