PRESIDENT TRUMP TICKED AT “PARASITE”

WASHINGTON (AP) — For President Trump, it appears his “America First” slogan also applies to the Oscars. Trump went on a tear against Hollywood during a campaign appearance last night in Colorado. He complained about how the South Korean movie “Parasite” won the Academy Award for best picture — the first time a non-English language has done that. Trump didn’t pan the movie itself — but griped that a South Korean movie won. The company that distributed the film in the U.S. had a quick clap-back for Trump, saying it’s “understandable” that the president didn’t care for the sub-titled movie, because, Trump, quoting here, “can’t read.”

PRESIDENT TRUMP GOES AFTER BRAD PITT

WASHINGTON (AP) — Remember when Brad Pitt cracked at the Oscars that the 45 seconds producers gave him for his acceptance speech was 45 seconds more than the Senate gave witnesses like former National Security Adviser John Bolton? Apparently, so does President Donald Trump. He took a jab at Pitt at a campaign rally last night in Colorado. He declared that he “was never a fan” of Pitt — and said the actor used his acceptance speech to make “a little wise guy statement.” The audience booed at Trump’s mention of Pitt.

HARVEY WEINSTEIN JURY HEADS INTO FOURTH DAY OF DELIBERATIONS

NEW YORK (AP) — Testimony from a former actress on “The Sopranos” seems to be a high note for the jury deliberating Harvey Weinstein’s rape case. Before leaving yesterday, the jury asked to re-hear testimony from Annabella Sciorra (shee-OR'-uh) — after considering other testimony from her. Sciorra’s testimony was front and center again today as jurors began their fourth day of deliberations by listening to a reading of a large chunk of her testimony. Sciorra says Weinstein raped and sexually assaulted her in the mid-1990s.

WHY SCIORRA’S TESTIMONY MATTERS

NEW YORK (AP) — Of course, no one knows what the jury has in mind as they keep asking for more testimony from “Sopranos” actress Annabella Sciorra. But it might be a cause for concern for Harvey Weinstein and his defense team. Sciorra’s rape allegation didn’t lead to the counts of rape and assault the movie producer faces. But they are part of an allegation that Weinstein is a serial predator — and those charges are among the most serious facing the producer. If the jury convicts on the prosecution claim that Weinstein engaged in criminal panel, it could end up with him being put away for life.
