WEST JORDAN — Three people have been taken into custody following an early morning shooting that left a 20-year-old Midvale man dead.

West Jordan police say Jonathan Hunt, 18, Jayden Olsen, 22, and a 17-year-old female were taken into custody Thursday afternoon in connection with the shooting.

West Jordan Police Lt. Jeremy Robertson said the shooting happened at a Rancherito's restaurant, 7849 S. Redwood Road, about 12:30 a.m. Two men entered the restaurant and got into an altercation with Noe Armijo-Luna, 20, of Midvale, and another man who was with Armijo-Luna.

At one point, Hunt produced a handgun and shot Armijo-Luna multiple times, according to a written statement from police. Emergency crews performed CPR on him and transported him to a hospital, where he died.

Hunt and Olsen left the restaurant and fled the area in a vehicle driven by the 17-year-old female, West Jordan Police Lt. Richard Bell said. The female, who was not named by police, has since been booked into juvenile detention.

After searching for the men, police arrested Hunt and Olsen, both from Murray. They were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of homicide and other charges related to the incident.

Investigators later determined the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Olsen and Armijo-Luna.
