AUSTRALIA — You never know what you're going to get when you come across wildlife in Australia. Usually, it's terrifying, massive spiders that will haunt your nightmares. But this time, it's a little nicer.

This video, posted originally to the Ultra Runners South Australia Facebook page on Saturday, shows an unusual encounter between a thirsty little koala and two runners. Apparently, the runners were out on a trail when this koala approached them. The runners gave the koala a drink of water, petted him and the little guy seemed to go on his way.

While it's unknown why this koala decided to approach the runners, some people speculated in the comments on the video that he may have only done so because he was sick. Fortunately, the people who posted the video said they had reached out to wildlife experts who will be able to help him.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

Either way, I'm sure these runners were happy to meet this seemingly friendly furry little guy along the trail rather than a more sinister furry creature with eight legs. This certainly makes for a way cuter (and less nightmare-inducing) video. And I'm thinking it's a good thing they were out running the trail that day and could help this little koala out with some hydration.

Enjoy the video, and let us know in the comments what your most interesting wildlife encounters have been.
