NORTH SALT LAKE — A 3-year-old girl was transported to a hospital after a near drowning incident Sunday afternoon.

It happened about 4:45 p.m. at a swimming pool in the Camelot Mobile Home Park, 655 N. Highway 89, according to South Davis Metro Fire Chief Jeff Bassett.

The girl was found in the pool by her parents who pulled her out and began trying to resuscitate her, Bassett said.

The girl came to and was assessed by medical personnel. Bassett said she was “responsive and screaming” as she was loaded into an ambulance and transported to Primary Children’s Hospital.

Bassett reminded the public that incidents similar to this one can happen anywhere and in any size of pool in “just a few seconds.” He urges parents to monitor their children closely around pools.
