FARMINGTON — Authorities on Wednesday identified a West Valley City man who died after he fell more than 400 feet in an all-terrain vehicle crash at Francis Peak Tuesday night.
Kevon Olsen, 61, died in the crash, according to Davis County sheriff’s detective Ty Berger. Emergency crews responded to a report of a crash near the peak about 8:50 p.m.
Berger said Olsen was the lone person on the ATV when he was ejected from the vehicle and rolled down a steep grade of the mountain after he apparently misjudged a snow bank.
He was found about 150 yards from where he was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, Berger said. Officials had originally said Olsen had fallen about 250 feet.
Impairment wasn’t believed to be a contributing factor in the crash, Berger added.
Davis County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Paramedics, Davis County Search and Rescue, Farmington Fire Department and Life Flight crew responded to the crash.
