SALT LAKE CITY — Two 14-year-old girls were injured after being struck by a car Saturday evening near 3400 West and 7000 South in West Jordan.

West Jordan Police Sgt. J.C. Holt said the two were in a crosswalk when they were struck by an eastbound car driven by a woman about 6:40 p.m. Holt said both girls were transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Neither of the girls, nor the driver, have been identified. One other girl was crossing with the two victims, but she was walking behind them and was not hit or injured.

Holt said the crosswalk is poorly lighted and both girls were wearing dark clothing. The driver stayed on the scene following the accident and police said she will not be facing any charges.
