FLAMING GORGE RESERVOIR — A Colorado man drowned in the Flaming Gorge Reservoir while trying to retrieve his boat Sunday morning, according to Daggett County Sheriff Erik Bailey.

Police believe the 67-year-old man's boat had broken loose from the dock at Cedar Springs Marina, and he went into the water to retrieve it. He eventually succumbed to hypothermia due to the temperature of the water, Bailey said.

Police received a call from the marina around 8 a.m. Sunday when the man's body was found in the reservoir. The man, a resident of Longmont, Colorado, had been a customer at Cedar Springs Marina for many years, according to Bailey.

Police have since recovered the man's body. His name has not yet been released, pending family notification.
