SOUTH JORDAN — Police were trying to determine Tuesday how a man whose body was found off 10600 South near the I-15 on-ramp died.

A motorist saw the body about 8:20 a.m. between the sidewalk and a fenced-off area just off the road and called police, said South Jordan police officer Sam Winkler.

The man was identified as Flint J. Brown of South Jordan, Winkler said. Brown, 56, was dressed in jeans, a shirt and a cowboy hat.

Because of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of Brown's body, the death is considered suspicious, according to Winkler. Brown was least seen about 11:30 p.m. Monday "wandering the area" near a hotel west of the freeway.

The Utah State Medical Examiner's Office conducted a quick inspection of the body at the scene and found no obvious sign of trauma. Brown's body was taken back to the office for a more thorough examination, Winkler said.

Autopsy results are expected to take several weeks.

Investigators are asking anyone with information related to Brown's death to call the South Jordan Police Department at 801-840-4000.
