MIDWAY — A trio of teen girls was hit by a car Monday while they were riding an electric bike, according to Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Luis Silva.

Silva said the three 14-year-olds had been riding on the same bike near Main Street and 300 East in Midway. Around 7:30 p.m., they tried to make a turn, but crossed in front of a car that was unable to stop in time, Silva said.

Two of the girls were taken to the hospital in an ambulance and the third was flown by helicopter, Silva said, adding that while the girls experienced serious injuries, they were not life-threatening. All three were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
